Born and raised in the Tenderloin inner-city neighborhood of San Francisco, Trust in Truss, has always been interested in creative writing, first through school assignments, and later through personal intersts.

Trust in Truss was first exposed to spoken word poetry, in 2002, while studying at UC Berkeley, in California He heard the likes of Scorpio Blue, Ise Lyfe, and Taalam Acey.

After being moved by these wordsmiths he began to wonder if he too could put his pen to the page. Later that year he spent a summer in Los Angeles and began frequenting "Da Poetry Lounge" at the Greenway Court Theater. There he was inspired by Bridget Gray, Shihan, and Sekou. At dPL, he read his first two poems, "Stress for Sucess" and "Prom Queen."

Returning to UC Berkeley for his Junior Year, fully indotrinated into the spoken word world, he began writing more regularly and reading at on campus events. He read a well known piece, "that one," at a Neo Soul Event that year. Later that year, he was published in UC Berkeley's Onyx Magazine.

During his Senior Year, he began to read at the Cal Poetry Slam, Black Box, Cafe Royal, and other smaller venues and events.

After taking a year hiatus from poetry, while infrequently writing, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, and returned to spoken word. He read at various campus events while studying at Tufts University, and was published in the Onyx Literary Magazine.

In late 2005 he began work on his debut album "unplugged '05" and began work on his remastered and remixed album, "let the word be spoken." He continues to read at local events and frequents the Lizard Lounge near Harvard Square, in Boston.
